Nscale is a London-headquartered neocloud provider that rents out AI computing resources through hyperscale data centers in Norway, Portugal, Texas, and West Virginia. The company controls over 10 gigawatts of power capacity and holds roughly $103 billion in total contract value, including a $45 billion agreement with Anthropic. It was spun off from a cryptocurrency mining enterprise in early 2024.

Major shareholders include investment firm Aker, Sandton Capital Partners, and a trust linked to founder and CEO Josh Payne; Nvidia holds a stake of more than 5% through warrants issued during a 2025 financing round.

Why this matters

Nscale's filing tests whether public markets will absorb a neocloud operator carrying $1.02 billion in net losses over just six months against a reported $14.6 billion private valuation. The $45 billion Anthropic compute commitment illustrates the scale of long-term capacity contracts now underpinning AI infrastructure financing, and a successful listing would set a valuation benchmark for other private hyperscale AI data center operators.
