Schneider Electric has announced a partnership with Kraken Technologies to improve electricity demand flexibility, with the goal of accelerating grid connection timelines for data centers. The collaboration aims to use Kraken's demand management software alongside Schneider's power infrastructure to reduce the queuing delays that have stalled dozens of data center projects across the U.S. and Europe. Grid connection wait times have stretched to several years in high-demand markets including Northern Virginia, London, and Dublin. The deal represents one of several industry efforts to solve interconnection bottlenecks without waiting for utilities to expand transmission capacity.
