Axiom Solutions International is the name for Flex's Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment, which combines power supplies, liquid cooling technology, and rack-scale integration into a single offering built for AI data centers. Flex intends to spin Axiom off as an independent public company in the first quarter of calendar 2027, with Flex CEO Revathi Advaithi expected to lead the standalone entity. Axiom has also agreed to acquire EPC Power, a maker of power conversion equipment used in AI data centers, utility-scale energy storage, and microgrids, for $4.4 billion.
Led by General Catalyst and Koch Equity Development, with additional co-investors
The $2 billion investment values Axiom at an initial enterprise value of $37.5 billion, making it one of the largest single capital commitments to AI power and cooling infrastructure to date. The deal is structurally distinct from typical startup funding: it involves a Nasdaq-listed company's business unit raising private equity capital ahead of a public spin-off, which sets a new benchmark for how incumbent manufacturers can monetize AI infrastructure exposure. Axiom's pending $4.4 billion acquisition of EPC Power, which has deployed more than 15 gigawatts of equipment across 62 countries, positions the new company as a direct competitor to established players including Vertiv, Schneider Electric, and Eaton.
