Vertiv Holdings has agreed to acquire King Environmental Services, headquartered near Dublin, Ireland, to extend its fluid management and liquid cooling commissioning capabilities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Financial terms were not disclosed; Vertiv said the deal is not expected to have a material impact on financial results and anticipates closing in the fourth quarter of 2026. KES, which also operates from a hub in Frankfurt, provides fluid-system flushing, filtration, water treatment, commissioning, thermal load testing, and electrical load testing for liquid-cooled data centers and critical power infrastructure. The acquisition follows Vertiv's December 2025 purchase of PurgeRite, which established a fluid management platform in North America.
The back-to-back acquisitions of PurgeRite and KES give Vertiv a fluid management services presence in both North America and EMEA, positioning the company to capture services revenue across the full lifecycle of liquid-cooled AI infrastructure rather than just equipment sales. As rack-level power densities rise with AI accelerator deployments, the ability to properly commission and maintain cooling fluid systems becomes a critical operational requirement, making specialized service providers like KES strategically valuable.
Vertiv acquiring a cooling services firm specifically to expand in EMEA is a notable M&A move by a leading data center infrastructure supplier, pointing to growing international demand for thermal management services.
