Worldwide cloud infrastructure services spending reached $168 billion in the third quarter of 2026, up 55% from a year earlier, according to a Synergy Research Group report. The market has doubled in eight quarters, and AI-specific services now make up roughly one-third of revenue. Amazon holds 26% of the market, followed by Microsoft at 19% and Google at 16%. Microsoft and Google grew faster than Amazon, and neoclouds including CoreWeave, Crusoe and Nebius were among the fastest growers outside the top three.
CBRE's August report found 7,481 MW under construction across eight primary North American markets in the first half of 2026, up 24.8% from a year earlier, with more than 80% preleased. Power constraints continue to extend completion schedules. Synergy analyst John Dinsdale expects infrastructure to find new owners if neoclouds consolidate or fail, so tenant risk would more likely shift assets than strand them.
A headline cloud revenue figure tied to AI capacity growth, relevant to hyperscaler demand. It ranks lower because the snippet does not make clear how much of the data is US-specific.
